The company has produced concept-driven films like Hulla (2008), Bheja Fry (2007), Mixed Doubles (2006), Navarasa (2005), etc. and spearheaded adaptations into film from literary sources, including adapting Chandrakant Bakshi’s short story, and Vijaydan Detha’s Aneko Hitler.

The company also collaborated with NDTV to launch Alliance Lumiere (earlier known as NDTV Lumiere), a premier World Cinema Channel, and has entered into a partnership with Sony Music, to launch and distribute its titles (including Studio Ghibli & Miyazaki titles) on Home Video & DVD in stores across India.
All Things Small
Mumbai-based All Things Small (ATS) was founded by Sunil with journalists Sidin Vadukut, Supriya Nair, writer Deviah Bopanna and Gaurav Vaz to function as a platform to tell true stories with deep-dive research on non-fiction narratives including podcasts and factual entertainment.
The initial idea is to have several journalists research and write 12 long-form feature stories, ranging in length from 10,000 to 30,000 words that will be published weekly on an online platform called 52, which is expected to go live in six months from now.
Long-term plans are for the content to be made available on major OTT platforms for co-production and distribution possibilities. The aim is to go beyond stories in English, and gather from and tell stories in India’s regional languages.
The Adaptation Company
The Adaptation Company has been a passion project for Sunil through which he promotes stories in a myriad of mediums, be it Film, Books, Digital Content, across language and geography. The aim has been to bridge the gap between various mediums by adapting literature into audio-visual form and make local, regional stories from India and various parts of the world relatable to the urban youth.
The role of the company is to develop stories and content and handle their production and co-production into Films, TV Series, and Web Series, including the film adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s short story Kabuliwalah into Bioscopewala (2018).
Very Vichitra
An off-shoot of The Adaptation Company, Very Vichitra is rooted in the same principle of transcending storytelling mediums to produce quality content. However, what differentiates Very Vichitra is that the content consists of non-fiction stories in short-form narratives that are designed for quick and easy consumption. Essentially, short-form, snackable, shareable and unique narratives, largely for an online audience.
